And they're off!!
Midday today, the starting gun went off, and the yachts are now on their way on the Round Ireland Race.
Early indications are good, and after only 3 hours of racing with Visit Malta Puma are in 7th place a little ahead of Jaguar Logic in 10th position overall. In class they are 3rd and 5th respectively.
It seems that conditions are very light at the moment with speeds quite slow, and wind very fickle. The yachts are heading due South down the Irish Sea at the moment, heading towards Tuskar Rock, the first major mark of the course, where they will turn further west along the southern coast of Ireland.
All is well onboard. Dinner this evening on both yachts is Beef casserole with mash, sounds pretty good to me!
