Our two teams aboard Panther Logic and Visit Malta Puma had a fantastic weekend of racing at Cowes Week. After a day of training on Friday the teams were fired up to post some good results. On both boats the teams were only competing in the weekend of racing and consisted of several new comers to Sailing Logic and even some people who had never been racing before!
On day one the conditions were very tricking with fickle winds. Both Visit Malta Puma and Panther Logic got a good start and were at the front of the thirty- strong fleet for the entire race. Visit Malta Puma finished 2nd on the water but dropped a place on corrected time to an X40. Panther Logic was close behind finishing in 4th place.
Day two provided everyone with the ideal Cowes Week conditions with 12 – 17 knots of wind. Panther Logic got a good start whilst Visit Malta Puma struggled in dirty air for the first three miles of the beat against tide. Finding themselves in the middle of the fleet the team worked exceptionally hard to haul the front-runners in one by one.
Eventually, the team had to settle for third on the water, but sadly dropped two places once the handicap was applied, but the team were delighted with a fifth place. Once again Panther Logic were hot on their heels just minutes behind scoring an excellent top ten place.
