We Are Off

Here we go; shorts on, sun cream applied and the trades are kicking in!  What more could any self respecting offshore yachtsman require?  We are leaving the dock in the next ten minutes and thoughts are generally concerned about how we will keep cool enough.  In fact we will be going down below to cool off with the air conditioning at full blast instead of to warm up with the gentle glow of the gas burner heating the kettle!

Long gone are the memories of beating to windward in dull and dreary conditions, we are enjoying da Caribbean and everything these glorious Islands have to offer!  Most notably warm weather sailing in absolute champagne conditions.  Last year was my final year on Puma Logic offshore and as promised there are many new and exciting adventures to come.  This is the first of those and dont be fooled by the hot weather; it will be a tough race and we are very much in it to win.

Anyway, I must go now as we hve our final checks to make, the routing software to run and the last minutes tweaks to our strategy to make.  We will bring you plenty of news as the race unfolds and hope you all enjoy following our progress.  Be rest assured we will, as always, be giving it our all and more and pushing hard right until the end of the race.
