Our adventure now continues and the Sailing Logic team are taking advantage of the opportunity to relax with some fantastic cruising around the coast of St Maarten.
We are now anchored in France (that is the French side of the Island!) Last night we dropped the hook just after sunset in the small secluded Baie de Grand Case. Mel cooked everyone a fantastic feast of baked snapper with tomatoes in a white wine a garlic sauce. This was washed down by a glass or two of Sauvignon Blanc in the warm night airs of the Caribbean, we were only disturbed by the gentle lapping of water against the hull of Hydrocarbon.
Can life get any better? One day we are on the stage in front of thousands receiving our awards after a superb regatta and just one day later we are at the opposite end of the spectrum enjoying a well deserved break in the most relaxing atmosphere imaginable; far away from the late night parties, hustle and bustle of a busy town in Holland and the adrenaline of hard core racing .
What a contrast this is and how enjoyable too. It is a shame the entire team are not here with us but sadly some of them have returned to the UK back to the reality of their life at home, I suspect somewhat eager to earn some more money to fund the next adventure.
I have to say that life in the Caribbean is all about contrasts, sometimes very stark contrasts; more about that later though! We are having a magnificent time and all that I can say to anyone contemplating some time in the Caribbean is 'life just does not get any better.'
