RYA Competent Crew Course

Do you want to learn to sail? The five day introductory RYA Competent Crew Course is for the complete beginner and would be a perfect start for you.
The RYA Competent Crew Course has been designed specifically to teach the basics of seamanship, safety, helming and general living aboard a boat thus enabling you to understand and enjoy your sailing.
By the end of the five days, you will confidently be able to hoist and change sails, manoeuvre the yacht by tacking and gybing, helm effectively, reef the mainsail, keep a safe lookout and very importantly, be able to tie those essential knots.
Itinerary:
Join the yacht on Sunday evening
Finish by about 1600 on Friday
What is included:
All food aboard (except Friday evening) wet weather clothing, marina fee’s and accommodation on board, RYA Log Book and tuition.
Next Step:
The RYA Day Skipper Practical Course or the RYA Day Skipper Theory Course.
If you are excited by the thought of learning to race yachts then our Introduction to Racing Course would be ideal.
Alternatively you may want to consider one of our cruising and mile building such as the Southampton to Dartmouth mile builder in August. These are a great way to get some offshore sailing experience whilst meeting like minded people.
