Team Building Days on the Water

The best day at work you'll ever have!

Sailing is a natural team-building activity. You have to work together well, communicate clearly and have clear roles and responsibilities simply to make the yacht move ! So if you are considering a team-building day out that is fun, exhilarating and you can learn new skills - why not take to the water for a day out with a difference.

Our racing yachts are fast, responsive and designed to be sailed by a team, so everyone can be fully involved in the day.

Inspiring Skippers
We hand-pick ony the best skippers and mates to work with us. Not only do they have the technical know-how, but they have the people skills to really make a team gel and have fun together. Our skippers and mates will ensure that your team has a fantastic day out.

No Previous Experience Required
A team building day with Sailing Logic always starts with a safety brief - so even if you have never stepped on a yacht before, you'll feel right at home in a matter of minutes.

Taking the helm
Quite literally. On a Sailing Logic day we encourage everyone to get involved and have a go at sailing the boat, including hoisting the sails, winching and taking the helm! You'll be so busy having fun, you won't even realise how much you have learned!

Typical Itinerary:

9.30am - meet in Hamble for welcome briefing and breakfast. Meet your skipper and mate
10.00am - head down to the yacht for a safety brief, before slipping lines and setting sail
10.30am - 12.30am - spend the morning learning the basics and swapping roles
12.30pm - pause the action for a delicious onboard deli lunch, or take a break ashore in Cowes
13.30pm - resume the action. Cruise around the Solent, or take part in our strategy challenge or test yourself with a race against the clock!

Group Sizes:

Small Groups - upto 10 people. You can all sail on a single yacht.

Medium Groups - 10-30 people. You will need 3 or 4 yachts for your group. The itinerary is the same as above, but in the afternoon you will race against each other, and as the yachts are all identical the results will be down to the team work!

Large Groups - 30 - 400 people. For larger groups, we offer a choice of a 'flotilla' where everyone sails to a destination and back, or a 'regatta' format. A committee boat will manage the race starts and referee the racing, using an authentic starting gun and flags.

Strategy Development

A perfect way to test your team's ability to generate and follow a strategy. We use a specially designed model whereby the team has to visit buoys in the Solent to earn points - but do you choose the high-value points but risk getting slowed down by the tide coming back, or stay local and go for more easy to reach points??!  Free of charge.

Leadership Development

There are many synergies between leadership skills and teamwork in business and in high performance sports teams. So, if you are after a more structured learning programme, we can provide a world-class facilitator to step on board with you and help use this natural learning environment to demonstrate effective teamwork and good communication, the importance of agreed objectives and clearly defined roles.

Or of course, bring your own HR facilitator to help relate the days learnings to your own specific workplace.

Whatever your objectives, we have a programme to suit. Please call our dedicated advice team on 023 80 456 360
