Round the Island Race
The Round the Island Race is one of the most popular and
exciting fixtures on the Solent racing calendar, regularly
attracting over 1,700 boats. Starting on the famous Royal Yacht
Squadron line in Cowes, competitors from all over the world race
the 60nM circumnavigation of the Isle of Wight.
The race is hugely popular with novices, families, corporate
groups and professionals alike, with a number of classes catering
for every boat type. Sailing Logic offer a 3-day package to include
the post-race celebrations on Saturday evening, allowing you the
chance to take part in this truly unique regatta.
Itinerary
Friday - Training Day. Meet Friday morning
for breakfast, followed by a day of training and practice with your
racing skipper, concentrating on teamwork and maximising boat
speed. The day finishes in Cowes with an evening de-brief, then
it's time for an early dinner and off to bed.
Saturday - Round the Island Race Day! The
Round the Island Race starts early, so you are usually moored up
early afternoon, with time to watch everyone finish and enjoy the
party atmosphere!
Sunday - Sunday is a day to chill and
relax with a gentle cruise back to Southampton.
