RYA Day Skipper Course

| Prior Experience: | 5 days aboard a yacht, 100 sea miles logged and Day Skipper Theory or have knowledge equivalent to it. |
Course Content
The RYA Day Skipper course will prepare you to skipper a yacht for the first time. By the end of the course you should have the necessary skills to skipper a small yacht in familiar waters during the day in good conditions. The Day Skipper certificate is normally the minimum requirement to charter a yacht.
The RYA Day Skipper course will take you through the basic skippering techniques, always under the watchful eye of the instructor. You will learn the basics of navigation, pilotage, anchoring, mooring both on pontoons and buoys and will practice man over board techniques and recovery.
Itinerary:
Join the yacht on Sunday evening
Finish by about 1600 on Friday
What is included:
All food aboard (except Friday evening) wet weather clothing, marina fee’s and accommodation on board, RYA Log Book and tuition.
Next Step:
The RYA Coastal Skipper Course or the Yachtmaster Theory Course.
Alternatively you may want to consider one of our cruising and mile building passages such as the Dartmouth to Southampton mile builder in August. These are a great way to get some offshore sailing experience whilst meeting like minded people.
