Le Tournoi Sailing Challenge 2013
Support Le Tournoi Charity and take part in one of the
most exciting events in the sailing calendar, Le Tournoi Sailing
Challenge. What a great combination!
Le Tournoi is a week long sailing challenge, and you will
experience a fantastic mix of 1/2 day training, inshore
racing and offshore racing, in the Solent as well as in and around
the beautiful Channel Islands plus a delivery trip back to
Hamble.
The event also includes a welcome BBQ on the first evening and a
delicious gala dinner, plus lots of opportunities to socialise in
Jersey and Guernsey! The emphasis is on fun and experiencing a
variety of sailing conditions and race types - perfect for anyone
looking to try racing, for an adventure or simply something a bit
different!
Combining such a diversity of conditions, locations, and
social functions makes Le Tournoi Sailing Challenge a completely
unique event and exceptionally good value.
After competing in Le Tournoi you might like to continue to
develop your inshore racing skills in the Hamble Winter
Series, or build on your offshore experience in the Middle Sea
Race in Malta.
Dates: 14 - 20th September
Itinerary:
The event starts Friday 14th Sept with a welcome BBQ in Port
Hamble (included in price). Saturday includes a training morning
followed by an inshore race in the Solent, then an overnight race
to Guernsey, arriving Sunday morning. The rest of Sunday allows
time to recover and explore the delights of the beautiful town of
St Peter's Port.
Monday is a day of racing around Guernsey, Hern and Sark, and
Tuesday is a passage race to Jersey, where Wednesday features
inshore racing in Jersey Bay and an end of regatta Gala Dinner and
Prizegiving (included in price).
With exact timings depending on the tide, you will depart Jersey
on Thursday 19th on the delivery cruise back to Hamble, expected to
arrive early Friday morning.
