Rolex Middle Sea Race
The Rolex Middle Sea Race takes place in the heart of the Mediterranean and covers one of the most beautiful courses in the world. The race starts in Malta and heads for the Straits of Messina before circumnavigating Sicily. Then the course takes you past the breathtaking islands of Pantelleria and Lampedusa before returning back to Malta for the finish. The Rolex Middle Sea Race even features Stromboli's active volcano as a course mark!
You will join our Beneteau First 40 yacht in Malta for a training and preparation week to completely familiarise yourself with all the racing manoeuvres, the boat and the team. You will be fully involved with the boat preparation and the tactical discussions, making you an important and valued member of the race team.
During the week there is the opportunity to compete in the 'warm up' Coastal Race around the beautiful Maltese Islands. Then the 600nM Middle Sea Race 2013 starts in the stunning harbour under the magnificent pre-historic city of Valetta. For the next four to five days you will battle against many of the best sailors in the World in an epic but incredibly enjoyable race. The Rolex Middle Sea Race is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular races in the World, combining awe-inspiring scenery with warm waters and competitive offshore racing.
You will also have the option of joining your yacht on the delivery trips from the UK to Gibraltar and then Gibraltar to St Tropez. A great adventure whether you are after some Mediterranean cruising, or are looking for mile building trips.
If you are passionate about offshore yacht racing, consider joining us for the ultimate offshore classic race, the Rolex Fastnet 2013. or for the ultimate challenge the Round Britain and Ireland race in 2014!
