Round Britain & Ireland Race 2018
If you are looking for challenge and adventure in 2018 then the Round Britain and Ireland Race could be just what you are looking for!
The event is so demanding it occurs only once every four years! We will be entering a team in this tough race in 2018, so if you are up for a real challenge then get in touch with us.
Starting from Cowes, the race usually runs clockwise, up past the West Coast of Ireland then around Muckle Flugga, the most northerly point of the Shetland Isles then back around the East Coast of Britain.
For 2018 we will be entering the Round Britain and Ireland Race on 'BOB', a fully race ready Farr 52. BOB has had an interesting history over the years after initially being launched as ‘Bear of Britain’ for legendary yachtsman Kit Hobday. Hobday’s ‘Bear of Britain Academy’ provided training for young sailors in the art of racing and established a strong racing pedigree, winning several prestigious titles over the years. Renamed as “BOB”, the well-known yacht went on to make global headines when BP CEO Tony Hayward and co-owner of “BOB” at the time, came under fierce criticism for racing the yacht shortly after the BP oil spillage in the Gulf of Mexico. “BOB” then most recently joined the ‘Toe in the Water’ charity which used competitive sailing to re-inspire injured servicemen from the armed forces.
The Sailing Logic campaign is deisgned to fully prepare you to take part, and will include full training and qualifying offshore races before the actual Round Britain and Ireland Race, which covers 1802NM and typically takes 12-14 days. This comprehensive package far exceeds the minimum qualifying requirements, ensuring that you and your fellow crew are as well prepared as possible.
The Sevenstar Round Britain and Ireland race is the longest offshore race offered by Sailing Logic and will push everyone hard both mentally and physically in what we can guarantee will be the adventure of a lifetime with a true test of your endurance. This campaign is not for the faint-hearted! If you would like a less time consuming adventure, consider our Round Ireland Race package.
