Round the Island Race 2010

The JP Morgan Round the Island Race is one of the most exciting events of the year. Approximately 1,700 yachts line up every year to race the sixty mile course around the Isle of Wight. Experiencing that many yachts around you is an amazing spectacle and provides a lasting memory. This is a definite favourite for many yachtsmen and one of our teams in the Round the Island Race won their class in 2007 and came 3rd in 2008.

We have space on our yachts for individuals who want to experience the excitement of this annual event. We have put together a three day programme for the Round the Island Race offering a very competitive package providing a wonderful mix of racing, fun and socials. You will join the yacht on the Friday morning for breakfast before departing for a day of training with your race skipper for the weekend. You will concentrate on teamwork and maximising boat speed in preparation for the race.

After the evening de-brief it is time for an early dinner and then to bed. The Round the Island Race starts very early on the Saturday morning. After an action packed day of racing it is time to return to Cowes for the obligatory partying. Sunday is a day to chill and relax followed by a cruise back to Southampton.

Round the Island Race is ideal for anyone who wants to enjoy the excitement and fun of a major event whilst learning new skills. It is a superb spectacle and one not to be missed. Newcomers to yacht racing are warmly welcomed by Sailing Logic for the Round the Island Race
