ICC - International Certificate of Competence
|Course Duration:||one day|
If you are looking to charter a yacht privately, the charter company will usually ask for evidence of competence. Some accept RYA qualifications, others particularly in Europe, require an ICC Certificate. You should check with the charter company for their exact requirements.
For holders of the RYA Day Skipper practical certificate or higher (RYA Coastal Skipper, RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Coastal or RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Offshore) who are members of the RYA, you should contact the RYA directly and they can issue you with an ICC Certificate free of charge, subject to certain eligibility requirements.
For those who do not hold a qualifying RYA certificate, competence can be evidenced through successful completion of a one day assessment with Sailing Logic, from our base in Port Hamble Marina.
The format of the ICC is one day of continuous assessment whilst the group executes each of the required manoeuvres unassisted. On successful completion of the assessment Sailing Logic will sign-off the ICC and submit to the RYA for certification.
Members of the RYA may receive their certificate without further charge. A fee is payable by non-members (currently £43).
Please visit www.rya.org.uk to find out if you are eligable for an ICC with Sailing Logic.
