RYA Day Skipper
| Cost: | £549 |
| Course Duration: | 5 days |
| Prior Experience: | RYA Day Skipper Theory |
The RYA Day Skipper course will prepare you to skipper a
yacht for the first time.
By the end of the course you should have the necessary skills to
skipper a small yacht in familiar waters during the day in good
conditions. The RYA Day Skipper certificate is normally the minimum
requirement to charter a yacht.
The RYA Day Skipper course will take you through the basic
skippering techniques, always under the watchful eye of the RYA
instructor. You will learn the basics of navigation, pilotage,
anchoring, mooring both on pontoons and buoys and will practice man
over board techniques and recovery as well as experience some night
sailing and navigation!
Before taking the RYA Day Skipper practical course, you should
have already completed the RYA Day Skipper Theory Course.
You can complete both courses together in our 9-day
Combined Day Skipper Course Theory and Practical Course so
the theory is still fresh in your mind when you step
onboard.
