RYA Day Skipper Theory

The five-day RYA Day Skipper Theory course is a fully
shorebased course and introduces the aspiring skipper to the wide
range of subjects needed to take a cruising yacht to
sea.
The Day Skipper Theory
syllabus includes a section on safety,
including emergency equipment, correct distress procedures and the
basic 'rules of the road'.
Navigation is another key area, where you will
be taught the basics of chart work, position fixing, plotting a
course to steer, using tide-tables and pilotage.
You will also learn how to prepare for a day sail - including
passage planning and
meterologogy. On the successful completion of
the course you will be given an RYA Day Skipper Theory
certificate.

Format:
Our RYA Day Skipper Theory course is run in our dedicated
classroom in Southampton over two consecutive weekends - a two-day
(Saturday - Sunday) and three-day course (Friday - Sunday).
Cost: Just
£295 per person
What is included:
Training
materials, practice charts and almanacs, instructor, dedicated
class room, pencil and rubber and light refreshments. RYA
Certificate. Free parking at the marina is also
available.
London Option
For London based courses we work with a training partner, offering
the course split over 7 evenings plus a weekend. Contact us for
