Commercial Yacht Coding
It is a legal requirement that all yachts operating commercially are coded by the MCA (Maritime Coastguard Agency), so if you own a yacht and have considered gaining extra income by chartering it, you must first be coded.
There are various levels of coding, depending on both what you want to use the yacht for, as well as the structural limitation / size of your yacht.
Navigating your way through the process and completing the required documentation can be both confusing and time-consuming. Sailing Logic have many years experience of coding our own vessels, plus those we charter manage and we can help you. We also benefit from trade rates at local chandleries and marine suppliers, so we can secure any necessary equipment at excellent rates.
Cost: depends on size, age and current state of yacht, plus whether it has previously been coded, and how many people you wish to code it for. A survey, stability and coding certificate for a full equipped 40ft yacht typically costs £1,000 + VAT. Please contact us to discuss your requirement and for a detailed quote.
