RORC L'Île d'Ouessant (Ushant) Race

The RORC L'Île d'Ouessant (Ushant) Race is a fantastic 400 nautical mile race. The Race starts outside Cowes, with the first signal at noon on Sunday, so you will aim to be in the starting area nice and early and therefore will leave the dock around 10am for a bit of practice ahead of the start.

The race will head along the South Coast to Wolf Rock off Lands End before heading to Ushant and then St Malo and the finish is normally just outside the town.  The course will be approximately 400NM. We be in St Malo for a day or so and return to Hamble – probably leaving around Friday lunchtime but it really depends when the race finishes!

For 2020 we will be racing on our Beneteau First 40, which is proving itself to be a very comfortable and competitive racing yacht, the perfect balance for this event.

Over the past few years Sailing Logic have developed a structured training programme, which builds your racing skills, develops team work and includes a offshore qualifying race.

At Sailing Logic we have a passion for offshore racing and actively encourage new faces to our offshore racing crews.

To join the Ushant campaign you preferably have some offshore sailing or racing experience. If you are new to sailing or racing or have any questions about your experience, please contact us and we'll be happy to advise you, alternatively check out our Intro to Racing courses.

I started racing with Sailing Logic two years ago and haven't looked back; The quality of training, skippers and boats make it the best and most professional school I've ever raced with. Head and shoulders above the rest!

Thank-you Sailing Logic for making this one of the best years I have had. The sailing was amazing but the new friends and the feel of being part of one big happy family is priceless.

Our skipper's example of outstanding seamanship and his nurturing of the team meant we not only had a fabulously enjoyable year but importantly, we could really make the yacht go fast! This is not just sailing, this is Sailing Logic.
