The SSE Renewables Round Ireland Race is a fantastic 704 nautical mile race around Ireland, starting from Wicklow.

For 2020 we will be racing on our Beneteau First 40, which is proving itself to be a very comfortable and competitive racing yacht, the perfect balance for this event.

The SSE Renewables Round Ireland Race is well known for the diversity of conditions you can expect to face, ranging from tacking battles along the North or South Coasts and usually an Atlantic Ocean sleigh ride down the West Coast.

You are never too far from shore which provides fantastic scenery and a great backdrop to the 5-day race. You will experience a great sense of achievement after circumnavigating Ireland; it is one of the true offshore classics.

Over the past few years, Sailing Logic has developed a structured training programme, which builds your racing skills, develops teamwork and includes offshore qualifying races.

This campaign builds on this core structure but also includes a fantastic opportunity to deliver the yacht to and from Ireland, providing you with an additional 800NM of offshore sailing which will contribute greatly towards an RYA Yachtmaster Offshore qualification.

At Sailing Logic we have a passion for offshore racing and actively encourage new faces to our offshore racing crews.

To join the Round Ireland campaign you preferably have some offshore sailing or racing experience. If you are new to sailing or racing or have any questions about your experience, please contact us and we'll be happy to advise you, alternatively check out our Intro to Racing courses.

I started racing with Sailing Logic two years ago and haven't looked back; The quality of training, skippers and boats make it the best and most professional school I've ever raced with. Head and shoulders above the rest!

Thank-you Sailing Logic for making this one of the best years I have had. The sailing was amazing but the new friends and the feel of being part of one big happy family is priceless.

Our skipper's example of outstanding seamanship and his nurturing of the team meant we not only had a fabulously enjoyable year but importantly, we could really make the yacht go fast! This is not just sailing, this is Sailing Logic.
